1. Relax on the Beaches

Start your trip by unwinding on Fort Lauderdale’s beautiful beaches. Spend a day at Fort Lauderdale Beach, where the calm waters and sandy shores are perfect for swimming and sunbathing. We got to see fireworks right on the beach on the 4th and it was super fun!

2. Explore the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex

The Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex offers family-friendly swimming pools and water slides, perfect for a day of fun in the sun. Relax in the leisure pool or let the kids enjoy the slides and diving boards.

3. Visit the Museum of Discovery and Science

Take the family to the Museum of Discovery and Science, where kids can engage in hands-on exhibits and interactive displays. The museum features a variety of exhibits, an IMAX theater, and a live animal exhibit, making it a fun and educational experience. Another spot we found was the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center.

4. Enjoy a Water Taxi Tour

Explore Fort Lauderdale’s famous waterways by taking a water taxi tour. This family-friendly experience allows you to see the city from a unique perspective while enjoying the beautiful scenery. You can hop on and off at various stops, making it a convenient way to explore the area. We had fun seeing beautiful homes on the water and got off at a few stops along the way. We enjoyed dinner at Shooters Waterfront Restaurant.

5. Visit Butterfly World

Take a trip to Butterfly World in nearby Coconut Creek, where families can walk through lush gardens filled with butterflies, birds, and exotic plants. It’s an enchanting experience for kids and adults alike, offering opportunities to learn about butterflies and their habitats.

Hugh Taylor Birch State Park offers a beautiful natural setting for outdoor activities. Families can enjoy hiking and biking trails, birdwatching, and picnicking. The park also has a beach area where you can relax and enjoy the scenery.
