Ft. Worth: A Couples Trip

Morning: Culture and Gardens

  • Breakfast: Start your day with a local favorite breakfast before heading to the Cultural District.

  • Explore the Cultural District: Spend the morning wandering hand-in-hand through the world-class art collections and striking architecture of the Kimbell Art Museum and the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. The reflecting pools and serene galleries offer a peaceful and inspiring atmosphere for couples.

  • Stroll through the Botanic Garden: Just a short distance away, enjoy a romantic walk through the Fort Worth Botanic Garden, the oldest public botanic garden in Texas. The Japanese Garden is particularly picturesque and provides a tranquil setting.

Afternoon: Historic Charm & Texan Eats

  • Lunch: Grab a casual lunch at The Stockyard Cafe in the Historic Stockyards.

  • Experience the Stockyards: Immerse yourselves in the Old West at the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District. Time your visit to catch the authentic live cattle drive (held daily at 11:30 AM and 4:00 PM), explore the Western-themed shops, or even take a short horseback ride along the Trinity River.

  • Relax Downtown: Afterwards, head to Downtown Fort Worth and walk through Sundance Square, a beautiful 35-block entertainment district with fountains, shops, and a lively atmosphere.

Evening: Romantic Dinner and Nightlife

  • Dinner: Enjoy a special, romantic dinner at an upscale restaurant. Consider one of Fort Worth's top-rated spots, such as the French-inspired Saint-Emilion Restaurant for an intimate setting, or Reata Restaurant for an authentic, upscale Texas cuisine experience with city views, 97 West or if you’re a steak lover like us, Cattleman’s is great!

  • Evening Entertainment:

    • For a sultry, sophisticated end to the night, descend into the speakeasy-style Scat Jazz Lounge for live jazz music and cocktails in a cozy, candlelit setting.

    • If you love rodeos like we do, go to the Stockyards Rodeo, home of the world’s first indoor rodeo in 1918. Make sure to get tickets in advance and plan which days it’s happening on your schedule.

This itinerary provides a full day of diverse, couple-friendly activities that showcase the best of Fort Worth's cultural and historic charm.

We loved staying at Hotel Drover, it was a wonderful experience!
